Easton's Eating!

Well Easton is 6 months old and is eating food!
So far we haven't found anything he doesn't like--everything is pretty neutral, no love or hate.

We have rice or oatmeal cereal for breakfast, fruit for lunch, and vegetables for dinner.
(and nurse in between, of course)
So far he has had apples, bananas, pears, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and carrots.

(his bib says "I make cookies go extinct")

We bought him a high chair and bibs and is growing up so fast!
Jake wants to be included in the eating ritual, so he licks Easton's feet while he's in the high chair and then I let him lick the lid of the baby food.
The fruit is all delicious!

If I don't spoon it into Easton's mouth fast enough, he grunts and fusses to remind me to speed it up.
He even tries to grab the bowl and spoon.

Oh, and to the people who say babies sleep through the night once they start eating foods because they have fuller tummies... y'all a bunch of liars!

BUT I JUST LOVE HIM SO MUCH NO MATTER WHAT!

Being Blaine's First... Cavity Filled

Last Friday Blaine filled his first cavity--and it was on me!
Kind of a special milestone for the future dentist
What is that weird blue thing on my face you ask? A rubber dam, apparently

So handsome <3

He honestly did a great job. I should've taken a before and after photo since this was a restoration.
It's weird though. Blaine filled my cavity. He's like a grown up professional dentist... in 2 years.
But still. I'm proud of him. How cool. And now he can show off his first filled cavity forever.

And now technically he doesn't need any more operative patients, so... you're welcome.
He got an A :)

The "Gold" Clinic

His partner Tim, who we've known since BYU

The second appointment had a little snag with the anesthetic so my mouth was a little sore later that evening, so Blaine drew me a sketch to explain what happened...
Maybe his dental friends could decipher that :)

New Years in Florida, part 4

These are the last pictures from our long Christmas break trip.

We drove over to Downtown Disney because we love all things Disney and have been privileged to live so close to it. Its about an hour from where my family lives right now, but we had to pull over along the way because somebody had a blow out in their diaper and needed to be cleaned up. Easton knew his Grandma and aunts would buy him a new Disney outfit if he did, so it was worth it.

Look at that happy boy, loving all the attention

Here's the sisters leaving a space for Abbie on her mission

What a good grandpa :)

LOOK HOW MUCH HE CHANGED IN JUST 2 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!

New Years in Florida, part 3

Florida never gets too cold, but relatively speaking, the west coast does get a little chillier than the east. And since manatees are Florida natives like my family, they get cold easily. So they hang out by Tampa Power and Electric power plant because it warms the water for them.

sand sculptures

And we took Easton to the beach for his first time, but man, we miss the east coast beaches
(as in the Atlantic side of Florida)

put his feet in the water and it was too cold

warning: no idea why my pictures are like this, but most of them from the beach are messed up

and then the cold water hit my leg...
