I don't love watching baseball. I DO love watching baseball live at a college game.
I used to go with my dad all the time at the University of Miami
and we would get ice cream and hot dogs.
At BYU I would get a hot dog and dippin' dots--I hate that stuff,
I just wanted the souvenir mini baseball helmet it was served in.
So last Saturday we headed down to Norman and went to our first OU baseball game, and Easton's first game ever. We practiced our clapping, but most of the time Easton was snacking or crawling around the grass or biting Blaine's hat, or poking us in the face.
It was a good, close game that went into extra innings.
We even got the almost-fight where the teams run out of the dugout and the officials and coaches have to get them back.
And we got in free, which is always great.
And I hate it when people berate the umpire (its rude and low class), but it's usually part of the experience and I couldn't help but chuckle at a new one I heard that day:
"Are you getting paid for this, blue? You should donate your salary to the blind!"
I could never be an umpire.
Look at that cool dude in his sunglasses!
It was a hot, sunny, mid-80s day and he was wiped out by the time we got to the car...
doesn't look like it though.
So to wrap up our sunny family Saturday, we ate dinner on the patio when we got home.
Grilled cheese with lettuce, tomato, and avocado--my fave.
We can't wait to go back to another game during Blaine's break!
Better get my Okie boy an OU shirt.
